Accident and Emergency The
Advanced Accident & Emergency Unit is designed and equipped with the
latest know-how of International Standards. The department offers 24
hours services and is backed by trained doctors, nurses and
paramedical staffs. This department has 19 beds with the latest
state-of-the-art trolley in the world and supported by 24 hours Ambulance,
Radiological, Pathological and Blood Bank facilities. This
department has been of great importance in many a crisis situation
in the city like the Khanapara Oil Tanker blast (1999) and the
Dispur Bomb blast (2001). This is the only hospital in the
North-east to have a fully functional 24 hour OT service
which ably supports this A& E department.
This department is led by Dr. Atanu Barthakur, MBBS, M.S., Trained
in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), U.K.
